The people that are born like August have breathing problems and/or eating difficulties. Most children would get a 40% hearing lost. There eyes could dry out which could lead to infections. Clef palate often occurs with Trencher Collins syndrome.

The book took place in August's house, and the school that August is going to go to. It Takes place in the year 2000

A LESSON I LEARNED WAS

  • It doesn't matter what's on the outside what matters is what in the inside.
  • When the book started everyone didn't want to be friend with August, but when they got to know him they really didn't care how he looked.

They're all a bunch of freaks! Said one of his friends. Amos didn't answer them but looked at us."Come on, guys, let's go. Mr.Tushman's waiting for us." I knew that was a lie, but I helped Jack get up, and we started waking over to Amos. Then out of the blue, the Eddie guy grabbed my hood as I passed by him, yanking it really hard so I was pulled backwards and fell flat on my back. It was a hard fall, and I hurt my elbow pretty bad on a rock. I couldn't really see what happened afterwards, except that Amos rammed into the Eddie guy like a monster truck and they both fell down to the ground next to me. Everything got crazy after that Someone pulled me up and they yelled RUN!!!

I gave it this rating because from the start of the book I got hook, because when you read this book it start out depressing but it shows how August overcomes it, and it makes you want to read more.
