Traits controlled by two or more genes are said to be polygenic traits.

Example: Redish/Brown eye pigment in fruit flies. Also, human skin color.

Many genes exist in several different forms and are therefore said to have multiple alleles.

Example: Coat color in rabbits is determined by a single gene that has at least four different alleles.
