EVENTS, ACTIONS AND SCENES

TENSION POINTS

• Tension: When Edward is making an ice sculpture and Kim is dancing in the snow, Jim comes and shouts, gives Edward a fright so that he accidentally cuts Kim's hand. Kim knew it was an accident so got mad at Jim and breaks up with him. Kim hates Jim for the rest of the film because he keeps accusing and abusing Edward.

Climax Points:

When Kim realises that she actually loves Edward she starts to protect him. Especially when Ed is on TV and the questionnaire asks him whether there is a special girl in his life, Ed pause then starts to say 'y....' and that's when the recording set up blows up and Jim starts laughing. Kim is already annoyed because before the recording set blew up, Jim was teasing Kim because Ed was taking a LONG, LONG time to respond, but now she was furious. She started shouting at Jim for laughing when Edward was hurt and then Jim thought better of it, but was still laughing on the inside.

Turning Points:
Kim starts realising what a nice person Edward is when he is doing the ice sculpture as I said before and when Jim shouts, gives Ed a fright and then scares him away for cutting Kim. After this Kim started getting more and more annoyed at Jim because he kept accusing him of doing things that he wasn't doing and abusing him as well. Another turning point was when Jim and his friends went to rob Jim's house, Kim was not happy when they left Edward there when the sirens went off. Kim kept shouting at the driver 'turn around!' and 'we can't leave him there!' But nobody was listening. Kim said she was sorry to Edward after this as well as 'why did you do it?' and Edward said the touching 'because you told me too.' These were the major turning points for me.

Relationships

Kim's relationship with Jim lasts until she changers her perspective on Edward.
When Kim sees/meets Edward, she instantly fears from his scissor hands . This all changers as she soon notices the struggles Edward meets as such a contrast to the suburbanites and she wants to help him. Kim continues to respect Edward and ends up in a troublesome love, nut he has to let her go. In the, Kim has to leave Edward and continue with her life, an unknown husband, children and grandchildren.
