PRESENTATION OUTLINE
The nucleus holds all of the cell's DNA, or instructions. It is related to the city hall because it tells the rest of the cell what to do and how to do it.

The nucleolus is where the assembly of ribosomes begins. This is related to the mayor's office in the city hall because it is where the orders and demands begin.

The central vacuoles store materials like salts, water, proteins, and carbohydrates. This is related to a dam or reservoir because it holds vital materials to sustain life and energy.

Vesicles transport materials in and out of the cytoplasm. This makes them like the city's plumbing, because they control the waste and deliver water to homes.

The cytoplasm is the rest of the cell outside of the nucleus. This can be referred to as the buildings and everything else within the city borders.

Lysosomes break down lipids, carbohydrates, and proteins into smaller molecules that can be used by the cell. Lysosomes can be referred to as city garbage trucks because they are responsible for removing waste and junk from the cell.

The cytoskeleton is helps the cell maintain its shape and is also invoked in movement. This can be referred to as the roads of a city, which allow cars and people to move. Or, the building frameworks seen everywhere.

Ribosomes small particles of RNA and protein found throughout the cytoplasm in all cells. They produce protein. Ribosomes are most like the city employed workers, who build and do anything that the mayor tell them to do.

Rough ER is involved in the synthesis of proteins. This is related to the businesses or factories that send products, or proteins, to the rest of the city.

Smooth ER has no ribosomes on its surface, and has enzymes that perform specialized tasks. This is most like the filters in our water because smooth ER detoxifies drug substances.

The Golgi Apparatus modifies, sorts, and packages materials from the endoplasmic reticulum for storage in the cell or release. This is most like the warehouses that package and receive all the products they receive.

Chloroplasts capture the energy from sunlight and convert it into food that contains chemical in a process called photosynthesis. This is most like solar power plants that converts energy from the sun.

Mitochondria is the power house of cell. They convert the chemical energy stored in food into compounds that are more convenient for the cell to use. This is most like the power plants that produce energy for the city.

The cell membrane regulates what leaves and enters the cell and also protects and supports it. This is most related to the city borders because it is a boundary and where cars are checked in and out as they leave/exit the city.
