1. Registration as a student

  • Registration as a Berliner with the municipality (Bürgeramt)
  • Prove your health insurance

1.1 Registration as a Berliner

  • we can do it for you if you hand in:
  • completed form "Anmeldung"
  • copy of ID or passport
  • "Wohnungsgeberbestätigung"
  • deadline: Friday 22nd September

1.2 Prove your health insurance

  • EU-citizens? EHIC (European Health Insurance Card)
  • non-EU-citizen? letter of proof
  • possible: German health insurance

2.1 Berlin's public transport

  • RE, S-Bahn, U-Bahn, Bus, MBus, Ferries
  • week days: 4.30 - 0.30
  • night-line system
  • 24h service on weekends
  • Always have a ticket => 60€ fine

2.2 Public Transport Ticket

  • tarif zones ABC
  • best option if you stay only until December: Azubi-Ticket, if you stay until January or longer : Semesterticket (193,50,- EUR, valid October to March)

3.1 WiFi on campus

  • mainly for academic use
  • private use possible within limits - please just one device!
  • please respect copyrights
  • unacceptable are websites with racist, pornografic, or any content that violates the constitution

4. Entering the "Virtual Campus"

  • enter at bottom of German or English website
  • schedule, course material
  • other participants
  • grades
  • your profile (address, phone etc.)

5. Course start

  • Study Abroad courses Monday 18/09/2017 end: before Christmas
  • regular courses: 02/10/2017 end: January

6. Rules

  • to pass your courses sucessfully, you need to follow the class & examination rules.

6. 1 Class rules

  • Attendance is mandatory! You can´t miss more than 3 sessions (á 90 min).
  • Don´t be late! More than 15 minutes late will be counted as absence
  • if you miss an exam and cannot provide a doctor´s note, it´ll be counted as failed

6. 2 Examination rules

  • The examination dates will be published at the latest two weeks before the examination
  • The re-exams will usually take place in the following semester. There cannot be made any exceptions.

  • your door opener

  • important: matriculation number!
