• Above reproach
• Husband of one wife
• Sober minded and self-controlled
• Respectable and hospitable
• Able to teach
• Children must be Christians

• Must not be violent but gentle
• Not quarrelsome/quick-tempered
• Not greedy
• Not arrogant

• Must manage his home and God's home successfully
• Must be a seasoned Christian
• Must be of good reputation
• Must love and care most

• Disciplined in the Bible
• Must be a lover of good
