ESSENTIAL QUESTION

My essential question is "Why is it dangerous to let the past define us?"

SOURCE

I found a source called 'You cannot re-create the past', by Jeanne Philips on ProQuest.

"Concentrate on making the present the best it can be, and the future will take care of itself". This is a quote from the source that I found. We shouldn't let our past define us for many reasons. Letting your past define you will make you live in the past and believe that to define your life. If our past defines us, we cannot build a strong and resilient future for ourselves, if we live in the past. We should strive to make the best of the present moment and let our previous experiences shape ourselves into becoming a better person.
