  • The ridge splits into two ridges in southern Peru and Bolivia.

  • Causes extreme ocean and weather events that have global events.
  • El Niño, is an ocean and weather pattern that effects the pacific the pacific coast.
  • Causes heavy rains, and people sometimes experience flooding.

  • Oil is the main export.
