They are trying to improve their lives by eating better food [prepared by God].

The farmer provides food for the restaurant and its customers.
Without a farmer, a restaurant would not be able to function.

A chef prepares the food for the customers with the ingredients that the farmer provides for him.
A chef enriches the lives of the customers by providing them with wonderful food.
