Managing Your Health
- Know your numbers
- Reduce health risks
- Reduce health cost (Klatt et al., 2016)
During the Health Assessments you will have to opportunity to get your blood drawn, blood pressure checked, and a Body Mass Index (BMI), and meet with the medical team to review your results.
The blood draw will check your levels "numbers" for glucose, HbA1c, cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL, LDL, complete blood count (CBC), and kidney/liver functions (comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP)).
When you are aware of your levels "numbers" you have the opportunity to reduce health risks and manage chronic illnesses.
Studies have been shown that, by lowering health risks and proper management of chronic illnesses can reduce the amount of medical care received and medical cost (Klatt et al., 2016). That in itself is an incentive!
