Our social constructs are a valued factor in our legal lives. It is what keeps us from getting deep into trouble and what helps us get out of trouble.

INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY

In every court case solved in the documentary the dependent was innocent until the prosecutor could provide enough evidence that the defendant was guilty.

Innocent until proven guilty means that the person getting prosecuted for a crime is not yet guilty until enough evidence is shown and proven correct, then the defendant could be proven guilty.

A RIGHT TO A FAIR TRIAL

This was shown in the documentary, especially when Brandi was helping a young man get a trial he deserved.

A right to a fair trial means that to whatever you do illegally you can have a trial for it and have equal opportunities to be seen as innocent.

JUSTICE IS BLIND

In the documentary, Brandi lost a case that she truly thought the man was innocent. She concludes that justice can be blind.

Justice is blind is a saying that means that sometimes the judge, jury, and police get information wrong, and as much as it gets fought sometimes we are blind to see the true justice.

Cops all around the US are serving the law and protecting us from the criminals. The documentary includes cops bringing in rapists and big criminals.

To protect and to serve means that you are there to protect and to serve the people and the law.
