• Tasmin loves roller coasters, she explains she enjoys the adrenaline rush, the feeling of her heart racing, and breathlessness. Once she has finished the ride she explains she quickly returns to a normal state.
• Using your knowledge explain the experience of riding the roller coaster

• Symapthetic branch of ANS is triggered
• Fight or flight response
• Heart rate up, breathing increases etc
• Once the ride finishes - parasympathetic branch kicks in
• Returns the body back to a normal state

Fight or Flight

• Dave is walking along the gallery when he notices a stalker behind him that looked very athletic. Dave decides to run and despite not being very quick he runs surprisingly fast, after running for 20 mins he starts to tire and trips and cuts his leg badly. Despite this he feels no pain and finds new energy and he makes it to Tesco's alive.
• Explain with reference to the SAM pathway and HPA axis what has occured inside his body

• HPA - Pituitary gland - ACTH, Cortocosetrods - pain relief and energy - this is why he feels no pain and gets a boast of energy

• A teacher has the principal sit in on one of his lessons. As the lessons starts what are the likely sensations the teacher will experience. Midway through the lesson about 30 minutes in what additional effects may occur.
