Federal law: A body of law at the highest or national level of a federal government, consisting of a constitution, enacted laws and the court decisions pertaining to them.

Bicameral: a legislative body having two branches or chambers.

District:

Speaker of the house: The presiding officer of the United States House of Representatives. The Speaker, a member of the House, is elected by a majority party caucus.

Majority Leader: the head of the majority party in a legislative body, especially the US Senate or House of Representatives.

Minority Leader: the head of the minority party in a legislative body, especially the US Senate or House of Representatives.

Caucus: a conference of members of a legislative body who belong to a particular party or faction.

Standing Committee: a permanent committee that meets regularly.o

Constituents: a member of a constituency.

Representative: a person chosen or appointed to act or speak for another or others, in particular.

Trustee: A lawmaker who uses their independent judgment to make decisions. They assume that voters trust them to make the right decisions.

Delegate: A lawmaker who acts as they think the voters want them to act. They act first to please their voters.
