THREE PLACE TO VISIT IN MISSOURI

The St.Louis archway is a 630 ft. archway made in 1963. It has a tram which visitors can ride up to the top. This arch is the tallest man made arch in the western-hemisphere.

Sliver dollar city is a theme park close to Branson. It is open most of the year and has times of the year when they decorate. One holiday they already have set up for is Christmas.

Wilson creek battlefield near Republic, Missouri preserves the battlefield of Wilson creek battle. This battle was fought on August 10, 1861.
It marked the American Civil war engagement.

FIVE GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURES OF MISSOURI

The till plains lie north of the Mississippi River. The plains are more hilly in the west than the east. The highest elevation in the plains is 1,200 ft.

The Ozark Plateau is a low dome or a belt of highland area. It runs from Mississippi River to McDonald county in Arkansas. Some of the highest elevations of the highland are 1,700ft.

The Mississippi Alluvial Plains are a big stretch of land that is all lowland. It has a total area of 3,000 ft. altogether. Some parts are swampy but most of the area is full of lakes.

The Osage Plains located in western Missouri is large and flat with few hills. The soil there is shallow and isn’t very rich. Tall grasses used to grow there but now little remains.

Missouri, also known as the “Cave State” has over 6,400 caves. Onondaga is one of the most accessible. It has over 68 species from the tiny invertebrates to the grotto salamander.
