Independent variable- cup of water
Dependent variable- different types of change.

All coins will be dropped into 10 inches of water from 2 inches before the surface of the water, and the clock will be stopped when the coin hits the bottom of the cup.

We predicted that the bigger the size of the coin, the faster it would hit the bottom of the cup. Therefore, the quarter would go through the water the fastest, then the nickel, then penny, then dime.

After doing the experiment, we found the following times of the coins going through the water:
Quarter: .37 seconds
Nickel: .44 seconds
Penny: .51 seconds
Dime: .52 seconds
