CAUSES

• Travel through air in droplets
• You can inhale them directly
• Or pick it up from keyboard, telephone, etc.
• Then could transfer to eyes, nose, or mouth.

DIAGNOSING

• Care giver ask if u have health problems
• They will ask you three questions
• They will collect fluid from your nose or throat
• And will test for influenza

PROGNOSIS

• 1-2 weeks recover quickly
• Life threatening complications
• Young children and adults 50+
• Higher risk of complications

TREATMENTS

• Doctor will proscribe you medication
• Get plenty of sleep
• Drink clear fluids
• Stay cool or staying warm if you have chills

HISTORY

• 1918 killed estimate of 50 million people
• Some died within a few hours of symptoms
• Life expectancy in U.S dropped 12 years
• 1918 had killed more people than any other disease
