Matthew's "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit
the earth" means the gentle /humble people believe in the kingdom of heaven. Meek in Greek literature means gentle or soft which is referring to the servants of God.

The true meaning of the third beatitude to me is Meekness is power completely surrendered to God's control. This means the gentle/humble will know God's meaning and be able to communicate with him.
