PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Play Based...
Nature Inspired...
Cooperative...
Teachers plan engaging activities that stimulate intellectual curiosity and build social skills.
The classroom is organized into areas for science, art, dramatic play, building, and exploring.
Children choose activities that appeal to them.
There is a plan and routine for the day, and a balance between independent and group activities.
Children enjoy learning, they get used to a classroom setting, and they engage with adults and other kids.
Nature is a central organizing concept intentionally woven through our educational philosophy, methodologies, use of indoor and outdoor spaces, and public identity.
Our goal is to help children begin to develop care and concern for the natural world.
Teachers combine the use of developmentally appropriate practices and environmental education.
Indoor and outdoor activities are designed to build a foundation for environmental literacy.
The natural world is used to support dual goals of whole child development (cognitive, physical, social, emotional) and development of an environmental ethic.
A group of families with similar philosophies hire a trained teacher to provide their children with a quality preschool experience.
Parents assist the teacher in the classroom on a rotating basis and participate in the educational program with the children.
Parents, children, and teachers all go to school together and learn together.
Each family shares in the business operation of the school (a 501(c)3 non-profit) by serving on a committee.
