  • He attended Laney High School in South Carolina.

WHAT DID HE STRUGGLE WITH IN HIGH SCHOOL?

  • Michael Jordan was cut from varsity in high school because of a flaw he had with his height.
  • And he felt ashamed of himself for being cut, but his love for the game and his persistence never let him gave up.

HOW DID HE GET BETTER?

  • By supplication and being insistent, MJ always worked hard 24/7 in the court and he even had a big growth spurt too!
  • And a lot of people felt incredulous about MJ because he got cut from the team in the past, but they were wrong because MJ ended up in the NBA and he was the MVP of the NBA and was the greatest player of all time.

MJ IS BACK ON THE TEAM

  • After a year of being cut from the team and practicing 24/7 everywhere he was, and then having a major growth spurt, Jordan was drafted back onto the team in his junior year.
  • And he was so good that after his junior year, he already got drafted to the NBA with the 3rd overall pick in the NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls!

MICHAEL JORDAN'S FIRST YEAR IN THE NBA

  • MJ was already breaking records when he went into the NBA.
  • He received the gold medal in the 1984 olympics and he won NBA Rookie of the Year award in his first year.
  • And because of Michael, the Bulls won 11 more games which got them to the playoffs, but then ended up losing to the Milwaukee Bucks.

MJ GETS FAME

  • In his rookie year he was one of the most best NBA players at the time and Nike signed him to a contract that made shoes for Jordan and to the public to buy
  • His first shoes were called the Air Jordan 1's.

BROKEN DREAMS

  • In 1985, Michael Jordan was on fire. He played in the All Stars NBA game like he always wanted to, he was in the 1985 dunk contest but something messed his season up bad...
  • That something was MJ's broken foot. He broke a bone in his left foot and he wasn't able to be on the court and he was sidelined for the rest of the season until he came back in his 1986-87 season.

HE'S BACK AT IT AGAIN

  • In MJ's 1986-87 season he was back at what he was doing best. He scored 40 points or more for 9 consecutive games straight.
  • And the Bulls were doing good until they got swept by the Celtics.

THE BULLS WIN THE FINALS

  • 1991 was definitely Michael Jordan's year. He got his team to the finals and in game 1, and he won his very first finals game.
  • And Michael led his team to win the finals in '92 and '93. Him and his team destroyed everyone in the finals.

MJ WAS A BASEBALL PLAYER???

MJ'S BACK....BUT WITH THE FLU?

  • As MJ got his debut back in the NBA, there was one game where MJ had the flu and he wasn't feeling good.
