MIXTURE

SOLUTIONS

  • A specail mixture formed into a soild mmaterail(s) dissolves in a liquid; it is transparrent . It has two parts: the solute /solid part and the solvent/liquid part and can be seperated by evaperation

DISSOLVING

  • A process in which one materail (solid) speads out evenly into another materails (liquid) so that the first materails seems to dissapear

Causes liquid to dry up;the liquid turns into gas and dissipears (speads out evanly) into the air leaving any dissovled solid materail behind

SOLUTE

A SOLID PART F A SOLUTION

Solvent
Liquid part of a solution

Saturated solution
When a solite dissovles in a solvent untill no more will disolve

How well a substance dissovles in a solvent, uch as solubility of salt and water-4 spoons vs citric acid -11 spoons;cictric acid has higher solubility

Concentration
An amount of materials( solute/solid) dissovled in a certain amount of liquid; the higher amount os solute the hihger the level of concentration

Dilute
To make a solution less concentrated usually by adding more liquid/solvent

Chemical reaction
when two or more materials /chemicals) are mixed together and a change occures (a new material is formed-gas solid or liquid

precipitate

a solid material that formes as a product of a reaction

reactant
when two chemicals react when they are mixed, the chemicals are called reactant

fact
when a solution evaperates ,the dissolved solid materials is left behind (usually in crystal form)

fact
salt (or any solute) will dissovled in water ( solvent) untill it reaches saturation. no more salt will once saturation is reached.

fact
as the amount of solute (solid) in a solution increases, the concentrated also goes up.

fact
when equal amounts (volumes) of two solutions-for example each solution is 100 ml- are compared on a balance/scale,the heavier one is more concentrated
