DEFINITION

  • Longsuffering is like patience
  • Ephesians 4:2 " with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love.”

DEFINITION

  • God put this fruit in place because he wants us to be like himself and God is a very patient person, with longsuffering we are made to practice patience.
  • We can connect this with our lives because sometimes we have to wait for a long time for something.

MODESTY

DEFINITION

  • CCC 2522 Modesty protects the mystery of persons and their love. It encourages patience and moderation in loving relationships; it requires that the conditions for the definitive giving and commitment of man and woman to one another be fulfilled. Modesty is decency. It inspires one's choice of clothing. It keeps silence or reserve where there is evident risk of unhealthy curiosity. It is discreet.

EXAMPLE PART 1

  • Modesty doesn't always mean just how you dress but how you act, what you say, and how you treat others. This can be related to our lives because if we use bad language, or wear clothing that shows either a front crack or back crack or walk around like you own the world then that's not modesty.

EXMPLE PART 2

  • But if you use nice words, dress showing no crack front or back, and volunteer at homeless shelter or donate all your old clothes to homeless shelters than you would be a person of great modesty.

KINDNESS

DEFINITION

  • Kindness- a simple definition is "doing thoughtful deeds to others. And a way of thinking that leads us to doing thoughtful deeds for others." Kindness is humbly giving of ourselves in love and mercy to others who may not be able to give anything back or who sometimes don’t deserve it and poeple who frequently don’t thank us for it.

SELF-CONTROL

DEFINITION

  • Self-control is about resisting the temptation to break God’s law (which includes losing our temper) and react to others without demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit in our thoughts and actions.
  • Self Control is controlling ones self

EXAMPLES

  • It takes self-control to have godly joy when we are facing a difficult situation in life.
  • It takes self-control to get along with others and make peace instead of constantly getting into conflict.
  • It takes self-control to patiently bear with others rather than quickly condemning them. It’s very hard to “be patient with all”
