Geology: the study of Earths history and structure (what it is made of).

Geologist: a person who studies the earth and the minerals of which it is made of.

Property: something you can observe, such as size, color, shape and texture.

Depth: how THICK an object is from top to bottom.

Diameter: the distance ACROSS a circular object.

Rock: An earth material made up of different ingredients called Minerals.

Mineral: An ingredient in rock; it cannot be broken down any further ( if you cut it open you just get more of that mineral).

Fact: the difference between a rock and mineral is that a rock is made up of minerals and mineral is only made up of itself.

Crystal: a soild form of a sudstance that can be identifed by its shape or pattern.

Evaporation:When water is left to the open air, it does this (evaportion); it is technique used to further separate parts of the rock( separate liquide and soild ingredients).

Fact: Hardness is a mineral property used to identify the mineral. A hardness mineral always scra.tches a softer one.
