Equal Treatment

All students are entitled to equal treatment in the educational setting and to equal educational opportunities.

Creating Equal Opportunities for ALL Students

In the following slides, differences between students are defined as differences in race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, affectional or sexual orientation, gender, religion, disability, or socioeconomic status.

Equal Academic Opportunities

Students will not be separated or isolated by differences within schools, courses, classes, programs, or extracurricular activities.

Equal Curricula

Curricula will eliminate discrimination, promote acceptance and respect, and enable students to interact effectively with others regardless of differences.

Embrace Cultural Awareness

Students will have the opportunity to learn about different cultures from all over the world. Curricula will include Multicultural Education content and practices.

Equal Treatment

Teaching staff will exemplify the highest principles of equality and democracy.

Equal Programming

School administration and teaching staff will provide equity in educational programs and opportunities regardless of differences.

Equal Access to Counseling Services

The district board of education will ensure that all students have access to adequate and appropriate counseling services.

Equal Athletic Opportunities

The board will ensure that the district's physical education and athletic programs are equitable and coeducational and that they do not discriminate based on differences between students.

Equal Goals

The Board of Education will ensure that instruction eliminates discrimination and narrows the achievement gap.
