NILE RIVER

  • The Blue and White Nile are the two sources for the Nile River which was the diffrence between life and death to Egyptians.
  • Most cities on the river are spread out unevenly.
  • The Akhet season is where farmers are busiest because they work off public labor.
  • The planting seasons are determined by the mother Nile.
  • Lower Egypt is the lowest part of Egypt and is farther north than upper Egypt.

  • The highest class is where the Pharaoh is placed.
  • Enslaved people, farmers, and unskilled workers harvested papyrusand other crops.
  • People in Egypt were born into different classes which determined what their job was.
  • Merchants, craftsmen, and scribes wrote on papyrus for a living.
  • Merchants, craftsmen, and scribes had a higher status than enslaved people, farmers, and unskilled workers.

  • Pyramids were built by Egyptian Pharaohs.
  • Mathematics, geometry, engineering, and architecture were needed to build pyramids.
  • Pyramids would serve as a tomb or house for a dead Pharaoh.
  • Egyptians used the temple to give offerings.
  • A Pharaoh was buried with its belongings because that is what Egyptians believed.

  • Hatshepsut was portrayed as a male because Egyptians believed their Pharaoh should be a male.
