SACRAMENTS

  • #tbt
  • The picture I chose is of priests going into the ocean to baptize many people. This relates to sacraments tbt because I have already gone through baptism. This relates to Lent because Jesus is the one who allows us to have sacraments and during Lent we celebrate all that he has done for us.

MERCY

  • The picture I chose is of two elderly women giving a homeless man some food. This relates to mercy because she is taking pity on him and trying to help him. This relates to lent because Jesus had mercy on us by dying for us to save us from sin.

STRENGTH

  • The picture I chose is of a bench made up of the letters to the word "strength". This represents strength because the bench is strong enough to hold even the heaviest of things. This relates back to lent because Jesus had to have a lot of strength to die on the cross for us.

COMMUNITY

  • The picture I chose to represent community is of a bunch of people laughing and having fun all together. This relates to community re are a bunch of people hanging out with each other and having a good time. This relates to Lent because we need to be a community and support each other in this time of need and reflecting.

JOURNAL

  • Journals relate to lent because people write their deepest and most secret feelings and thoughts in them. During lent, God wants to hear all of these feelings so he can help to cure us of worry, sin, and envy. He died on the cross so we could have eternal life, the least we can do is tell him what we are feeling.

CREATION

  • The picture I chose is of the man's hand and God's hand almost touching but not quite. It is on the Sistine Chapel roof. This represents creation because God wants us to be as much like him as possible, but because he is our creator we will never be equal to him. Our hands will never touch.

EMBRACE

  • The picture I chose to represent the word embrace is of two statues hugging. The word embrace relates back to lent because everything that Jesus has done for us is like a giant embrace. All he wants is for us to be happy. That is just like a hug for us to help us to go on.

PURPLE

  • The picture I chose is of a purple flower. The color purple relates back to lent because it is the color that the priests wear during this time. It is also worn during advent. This color is representing the waiting and preparing for Jesus to come. During advent we wait for Jesus to be born, and during lent we wait for Jesus to be reborn.

BREAD

  • Bread relates to lent because it is simple and wholesome, and it is all some people eat for some meals while fasting. It represents God as the Bread of Life, the promise for eternal life.
