A verb meaning "to give or pass on as an inheritence."

King Solomon was a wealthy son of King David.
"The Gift of the Magi" says that Solomon would have been jealous of James' watch.

It's not always the material things that are the best gifts.
In "The Gift of the Magi," Della and Jim couldn't afford to buy each other great gifts.
They went through so much just to buy each other the perfect present.
This showed that they loved each other, and would give up their most prized possessions.

A character trait is a distinguishing characteristic or quality of the character.

Utopia's may seem to be perfect, but often have many flaws.

Action verbs show what the subject is doing in the sentence.
Linking verbs connect the subject to the predicate in the sentence.

W: WORKS CITED
In order to not be considered plagarism, you must create a works cited page.
When using someone else's information, you must research certain things.
If using a web site, you need things such as the author's name, website title, publishing date, date accessed, etc.
It is very important to create a works cited page, because if you don't it could be considered plagiarism.

In "New Directions" Annie Johnson doesn't let anything hold her back.
She had a rough life, but carved her own path for her future.
