PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Charles Manson was the leader of a Californian Commune and Cult Leader of the Manson Family.
It is thought that Manson personally killed some people but he order people from his cult to carry out most of the killings.
The Manson Family's motive for the killings was to speed up the process of "Helter Skleter"
-The Trial-
After Tate's body was found early in the morning the LAPD issued an arrest warrant for three Manson Family members.
Manson was soon found in connection with the murders and was arrested and a trial was set.
The Trial began on June 15th 1970. Manson and members of the Manson Family were facing charges on seven counts of murder and one count of conspiracy.
Some members of the Manson family had come out as a witness against as part of their plea deal.
On January 25th 1971 the jury returned a guilty verdict on all 29 charges that the group was tried for.
In March on 1971 it was decided that Manson would face the death penalty. However, this was reduced to life in prison.
40 years later Charles Manson is still in prison and some Manson family members are still on the run. He was recently married while in prison.
