PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Course Reflection

Taylor Maxwell

Did the course meet your expectations?

  • Yes, this course met my expectations. I was able to express my creativity within every assignment I did. I seemed to learn so much more this way. In addition, I had the chance to meet some great students and teachers during my observation hours.

Did you meet your own expectations of yourself?

  • The expectations I had for myself were to learn more about how to teach and connect with students in the special education program. As well as, get good grades on my assignments. I feel that I have met those expectations.

How did you “grow”?

  • I have definitely grown in the way I see the special education program in schools. I knew that the program was important but I did not know much information after that. Now I have seen and learned first hand what it means to be a teacher in this program and how valuable it really is to have.

What did you learn?

  • I have learned about the disabilities and disorders that the children might have when working in the special education program and how to teach each child accordingly.
  • In addition, I learned how to create and Individualized Learning Plan (ILP).

Learning experience I will take...

  • I will always remember that working with children is all about patients, repetition and positivity.
  • I'll always have the knowledge of all the disabilities and disorders.
  • I made a great friend when I observed in Mrs. Carl's class and I am very thankful for that.

What do I think?...

  • I thought this class was very informative but still creative which is a great combination. I really loved doing the work. Taking this class just helped brighten my passion for teaching.

What changes should be made?

  • Personally, I think the class is great the way it is. Thank you for being a great professor and reminding your students that family time is important as well.
