Scuppernong Marsh
1. The scuppernong marsh used to be several miles long.
2. Today now it is much shorter.

Railroad Grade
1. There is a marl station 100 yards away from the train.
2. From 1909-1915 the train hauled marl.

Marl Pit
1. The marl pit had thousands of lime rich marl.
2. The marl is grayish-white soil.

Fur Trappers
1. They were mostly by the beautiful clean scuppernong river.
2. They trapped beaver,otter,muskrat,and mink.

Native American Campsite
1. They left behind arrowheads and spear points.
2. The marsh gave them food and water.

Scuppernong springs
1. The tempreture is about 47 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Scuppernong springs is actually a group of smaller springs.

Old trout hatchery
1. The trout pond is the size of seven acres.
2. The trout pond once held one million trout .

Trout hatching house
1. It was built in the 1880's.
2. Each trough held as many as 30,000 trout.

Trout feed mill
1. It was made for the trouts food.
2. It was also built in the 1880's.
