To plan a balanced diet you must have something out of the 5 major food groups

Dairy
Protein group such as meat, beans, nuts, or eggs
And grains
Regulators
Some regulators are water, vitamins, and minerals
If u don't get the vitamins you need you can take them in pill form.
Also, you must have 6-10 glasses a day and more if u work out
