Driverless cars is a project by Google that allows cars to be self operated.

DRIVERLESS CARS ARE MAINLY ELECTRIC BECAUSE..

• There is less of a need for gas
• Conserves more energy
• Produces less pollution
• Better for the Earth!

SOFTWARE

There is a lot of software in a driverless car. But the main one is called Google Chauffeur, which identifies itself as "self driving car".

SOME ISSUES WITH THE SOFTWARE

• How to communicate with pedestrians
• Prototypes haven't been tested in the rain or snow.
• They do not obey temporary stop lights or signs.
• Has slow reaction for swerving around debis or potholes in the road.

TIMELINE

Driverless cars have mostly all ready been tested, and researchers have successfully logged 700,000 miles driven in the cars.

• Don't have to take a drivers test

DISADVANTAGES

WHAT COULD GO WRONG?

• Room for mechanical error
• Some people might not like the idea of not driving
• The passengers have less control of the vehicle if something goes wrong
