EMMETT TILL
Emmett Till was a young black guy that allegedly whistled at a white woman. He was only 14! This became one of the leading struggles in the American civil rights movement, the men who killed him had gone to court, (the judge were all racist white men) they said "I didn't do it" the judges believed them, so they walked out with no charges.
Emmett Tills mother insisted on an open casket for him.
People thought it was wrong, and disturbing but she said I want everyone to be aware of what these men did to my son.
