Narrator

is the role the narrator plays and his or her level of knowledge

Participant Narrator

is cast as a participant in the events of the story

Observer Narrator

participants in the action of the story, but not as the protagonist.  

Nonparticipant Narrator

does not appear in the story as a character

Omniscient Narrator

an all-knowing narrator; they see into the minds of any or all of the characters 

Editorial Omniscent

is all-knowing and comments on the action 

Impartial Omniscient

is all-knowing, but does NOT comments on the action 

Limited Omniscent

a non-participant narrator who only sees through the eyes of one character 

Objective POV

the narrator does not enter the mind of any character, but describes events from the outside

Innocent or Naive

a character/narrator who fails to understand all the implications of the story 

Unreliable Narrator

a narrator who is deceptive, self-deceptive; deluded, or deranged

Interior Monologue

Total Omniscience

a narrator that knows everything; every characters' thoughts
