ONOMATOPOEIA

  • Onomatopoeia is where words are made by noises/sounds associated with the word
  • Ex:boom,splat, and burp

ALLITERATION

  • Alliteration is when the same letter at the beginning of closely related words
  • Ex:Peter piper peck of picked a peper
  • Ex:She sell sea shell by the sea shore

SIMILE

  • As simile is a figure of speech involving the comparison one thing and another different thing so it’s more emphatic
  • Ex: He was as playful as a kitten.

METAPHOR

  • A metaphor is a figure of speech where in a word of phrase is applied to and object or a action where it is not literally applicable
  • Ex: The world is a stage

PERSONIFICATION

  • The meaning of personification is giving traits to non living traits or absurd quality’s
  • Ex: The wind whistled throughout the day

HYPERBOLE

  • Hyperbole is over exaggeration not meant to be taken seriously
  • Ex:she cried so much she made a lake with her tears.

TECHNICAL LANGUAGE

  • Technical language is a type of language where the author where the writer is writing about a particular type of subject and needs explanation.
  • Ex of technical writing:action plans,advertisements,book review

CONNOTATIVE LANGUAGE

  • Connotative language is where words carry emotion or meaning in their sentences
  • Ex:steadfast,thrifty,sated
