It portrays them as tall, thin, tanned etc.
On selected programs it portrays them as violent, reckless and out of control (the news).
Teenagers are portrayed very stereotypically so everyone can relate
They portray teenagers in a fashion that appeals to the audience (they never show anyone studying because that's boring)
They portray them as emotional, dramatic and immature.

Social media tends to portray teenagers by categorising them into social groups

There Portrayed because it seems like you need to be pretty and skinny to be good enough for society.

Music portrays teenagers as a separate generation
There Portrayed by music as music can lower there self esteem and mood
The type of music the teenager listens to tends to portray their personality and taste
It portrays teenagers as party animals as lots of song are drug, sex and alcohol related

Books portray teenagers based on personal experiences and opinions (author)
