WHY THIS TOPIC IS IMPORTANT:

  • This topic is important because World War 1 was one of the biggest wars America had faced. The leader of the U.S. army was John J. Pershing and it must have taken a ton of courage to be able to handle everything that went on. Especially having to prepare thousands of men to learn how to fight who had no idea how to do anything like that.

THIS TOPIC HELPED SHAPE AMERICAN HISTORY BY:

  • Helping any other commanders after his time, to prepare their men just like Pershing did. His impact on his men helped America win the war against Germany. The war led to a changed status for women, known as the 19th amendment. There was also change with political, social and economic views. There were increases in production and industries.

STUDENTS AND AMERICANS SHOULD BE FAMILIAR WITH PERSHING BECAUSE:

  • Because he had a huge impact on this country. If it was not because of what he did, most likely this country would be much different. This event involved this country and had an effect with ancestors of ours.
