WHAT IS IT?

• Made of water, flour and salt and MAGGOTS!
• They were so hard that sailors had to soak it in liquid before it could be eaten.
• They were baked in a hot oven for 30mins and left to dry in the sun.

WHAT DO THEY HAVE TO DO WITH THE ARMADA?

• ENGLISH seamen had one pound of biscuit a day.
• Spaniards were suppose to get 1.5 pounds of biscuit a day.
• Seamen didn't have enough of these because they were not stored properly, they were rotten
• We don't know how much they received, but they got 1 gallon of beer a day. That was their main source of liquid
• The water was pretty bad because it had been stored for too long. They had rotten water barrels.
