2.
CILIARY BODY
The ciliary body controls the shape of the lens.
3.
SUSPENSORY LIGAMENT
a series of fibers that connect the ciliary body of the eye with the lens, holding it in place.
4.
CORNEA
the clear, dome-shaped surface that covers the front of the eye
5.
IRIS
the colored part of the eye.
6.
PUPIL
the opening in the middle of the iris through which light passes to the back of the eye.
7.
AQUEOUS HUMOR
the clear watery fluid in the front of the eyeball.
8.
LENS
the transparent structure inside the eye that focuses light rays onto the retina.
9.
SCLERAL VENOUS SINUS
he scleral venous sinus (SVS) system is an anastomosing network of vessels within the sclera adjacent to the corneal margin and trabecular meshwork,
10.
VITREOUS HUMOR
a clear, jelly-like substance that fills the back part of the eye.
11.
OPTIC DISC
the distal portion of the optic nerve extending from the myelinated portion of nerve that begins just behind the sclera
12.
OPTIC NERVE
This is the part of the eye that carries visual information from the eye to the brain.
13.
FOVEA CENTRALIS
Central focus zone where the most visual activity happens
14.
RETINA
the light-sensitive nerve layer that lines the back of the eye.
15.
CHOROID
the thin, blood-rich membrane that lies between the retina and the sclera
16.
SCLERA
the white visible portion of the eyeball.
17.
PINNA
This is the outside part of the ear.
18.
EXTERNAL AUDITORY CANAL
This is the tube that connects the outer ear to the inside or middle ear
19.
TYMPANIC MEMBRANE
The tympanic membrane divides the external ear from the middle ear.
20.
MALLEUS
It is attached to the inner surface of the tympanic membrane and its function is to transmit sound vibrations.
21.
INCUS
One of three ossicles of the middle ear. It conducts sound vibrations from the malleus to the stapes.
22.
STAPES
One of the three ossicles of the middle ear. It transmits sound vibrations from the incus to the internal ear.
23.
AUDITORY TUBE
is a tube that links the nasopharynx to the middle ear.
24.
ROUND WINDOW
Membrane separating the middle ear and inner ear.
25.
VESTIBULE
contains receptors for balance
26.
COCHLEA
contains the nerves for hearing
27.
OVAL WINDOW
Membrane between middle and inner ear
28.
SEMICIRCULAR CANALS
contain receptors for balance
29.
VESTIBULOCOCHLER NERVE
Transmits sound and balance from the inner ear to the brain
30.
INNER EAR
Part of the ear that contains both the organ of hearing (the cochlea) and the organ of balance (the labyrinth). Labyrinth (Vestibular System)
31.
MIDDLE EAR
Part of the ear that includes the eardrum and three tiny bones of the middle ear, ending at the round window that leads to the inner ear.
32.
OUTER EAR
External portion of the ear, consisting of the pinna, or auricle, and the ear canal.
