PETROTTA &PONCE

PERIOD 7

CELL MEMBRANE

BOUNDRY OF THE CELL
The cell membrane is like a city border because it controls the movement into and out of the city like a cell membrane would do.

CYTOPLASM

KEEPS CELLS IN LINE
Police officers are like Cytoplasm because they fill the city and keep the city in line like cytoplasm does in a cell.

CYTOSKELETON

GIVES THE CELL SHAPE
Like construction workers the cytoskeleton gives the cell shape as construction workers give the buildings in the city shape.

SMOOTH ER

INTERCONNECTED NETWORK OF FOLDED MEMBRANES
A highway is like smooth er because it is a ton of interconnected roads that make for easier travel.

ROUGH ER

INTERCONNECTED NETWORK OF FOLDED MEMBRANES
Rough er is like a subway because subway rides are less smooth then being in a car on the highway or smooth er.

RIBOSOMES

MAKES PROTEINS
Chefs are like ribosomes because like ribosomes chefs make protein for us.

GOLGI APPARATUS

MODIFIES SORTS AND PACKAGES PROTEINS
Golgi apparatus is like uber eats because they sort, package, and modifies proteins as uber eats does.

VESICLE

TRANSPORTS MATERIALS WITHIN CELL
A vesicle is like UPS because they both transport materials.

MITOCHONDRIA

POWERHOUSE OF THE CELL
The mitochondria and power plants are similar because they both produce energy.

VACUOLE

STORAGE FOR CELL
A storage unit is like a vacuole because they both store things such as food, water, and waste.

LYSOSOME

BREAKS DOWN CELLULAR WASTE
E- waste is like lysosome because they both break down waste.

CELL WALL

GIVES PROTECTION, SUPPORT, AND SHAPE
A gate around a building is like a cell wall because it gives the building protection.

CHLOROPLAST

CARRIES OUT PHOTOSYTHESIS
Flowers are like chloroplast because they both carry out photosynthesis.

CENTRIOLES AND CENTROSOMES

AIDS IN CELL DIVISION
Lawyers are like Centrioles and CENTROSOMES because they aid in the division of couples as centrioles and centrosomes do with cells.
