Interior Designer

Interior design is the practice that deals with the placement and design of furnishings and other elements inside a space like windows, walls, doors, textures, finishes, light, and furniture is called interior deign. All of the said elements are manipulated by an interior designer in order to make the most functional space.

What do they do?

  • First meet up with the client yo get an understanding of the goals for the project 
  • Examine the space that requires design or decoration 
  • Draw up preliminary plans for the rooms redesign 
  • Create functional & quality interior environments

Many colleges offer an AA Degree in Interior Design or higher level universities offer a 4 year bachelors, or masters program. Ex: SJSU, California College of The Arts, Art Institute of California, CSU Sacramento, etc.

Where They Work:
Homes, offices, industrial units, shops, hotels, restaurants, public buildings, historic buildings, vehicles, such as ships and aircraft, and airports.
