WHO IS MY EXPLORER?

  • John Cabot was born in 1450
  • He had three sons named Lewis, Sebastian and Sanctus
  • Very few things were known about him
  • He died in 1498

WHAT DID MY EXPLORER DO?

  • John Cabot was working for England when he made his first voyage
  • Some people thought that he made it to North America
  • In 1498 he made another attempt to find the North West passage to Asia with 5 ships
  • He sailed from North America to Great Britain
  • He claimed Canada as a British colony

  • John Cabot is important because he discovered a brand new fish source for Britain off the coast of Canada
  • After his voyages the European fleets would come over to fish there
  • He discovered many places in Canada's east such as The Cabot Trail
