What are cameras?
A camera is an optical instrument to capture still images or to record moving images, which are stored in a physical medium such as in a digital system or on photographic film. A camera consists of a lens which focuses light from the scene, and a camera body which holds the image capture mechanism.

The still image camera is the main instrument in the art of photography and captured images may be reproduced later as a part of the process of photography , digital imaging , photographic printing . The similar artistic fields in the moving image camera domain are film, videography ,and cinematography .

Who invented it?
The camera was invented, or rather, developed by multiple people, over the course of history. But the camera was invented, as we know it today, by french inventor Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in (about) 1816.
Niépce technically took the first photo on a homemade camera, with silver chloride covered paper.

While his first photograph was only partially successful, he is the inventor of the very first surviving camera, which is a main reason why he is widely accepted as the inventor of the camera.

Positive influence
Cameras play an important role in the documentation of history , by providing a record of actual events as they are happening in that moment of time .
Photos are a validation for memories ; people who have memory disabilities like Alzheimers , ability to look back and remember loved ones who have passed reflecting back on memories with family and friends .
Cameras become a great tool for scientific research .
Cameras have affected the economy of the world as it has introduced a profession which is photography . People have taken photography as a profession as well as a hobby . Editing is also a profession established .Cameras have also helped in employment .
The invention of cameras has established a new world of computer graphics which enable the betterment of photos, videos that are vital to communication . Editing of photos and videos has brought the world on a new platform enabling people to look at the world with a different vision.

Negative influence
Cameras have altered the way we remember and we begin to look at photos as conformation of things we have done and events we have attended . This has resulted in people taking photos of every single moment and everything you have done in a single day , this has increase dramatically because of camera phones . In a way cameras have altered photographic evidence.
