Why should I?

tell a story, rely on what happened previously, make that connection

don't open the book yet....let them talk about the cover, but ask GUIDED open-ended questions

wide variety of students...tap into them, let them share their knowledge with those who may not know

before, during and after reading

read book first to find them. Not all books will work

create at least three questions

stay away from factual questions. Use interpretive questions

big ideas, not details
