JACKIE ROBINSON

He was the first African-American to play baseball !!
He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers!
His team didn't fully respect him at first ..

RACIAL SEGREGATION

He encountered a racist white man who played for the New York Yankees!
His use of non-violent, & his unquestionable talent, questions the basis of segregation.
Which then marked many people's aspects of American life.
Helped significantly to the civil rights movement !

HOW HE CHANGED BASEBALL

In 1947 he got MLB rookie of the year!
He changed baseball as more African-American joined the sport.
He died October 24, 1972 at the age of 53 in Stamford, Conneticut.
