  • Egypt is located in northeastern Africa connecting the Middle East to Africa.
  • Egypt is 386,700 square miles and is surrounded by Libya, Sudan, Palestinian Territories, and Israel.
  • Cairo, the nations capital is located in the northern part of Egypt near the Nile River.
  • The geography of Egypt relates to two regions, North Africa and Southeast Asia. Egypt borders both the Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea.
  • Landmarks include the Suez Canal and the Nile River.

CURRENCY

  • Egypt even though trading with its neighbors and its tourism is still a developing country.
  • In Egypt there is a middle class.
  • Egyptians use the Egyptian pound to buy goods and services.

  • In Egypt you could find middle eastern and Arabian cuisine.
  • Meals you could find are Koshari, and tameyya.

LANGUAGE

  • In Egypt the national language is Arabic.
  • To say hello in Egypt you would say السَلامُ عَلَيكُم (as-salamu alaykum)
  • To say goodbye in Egypt you would say مع السلامة (Mae alssalama)

  • Som holidays celebrated in Egypt include the Sinai Liberation Day and the Feast of the Sacrifice.
  • The feast of the sacrifice is to commemorate Abraham following God.
  • Sinai liberation day is a day to celebrate the liberation of Sinai from Israeli invaders.
