  • Temperature below 32*C is life threatening
  • Dress warm in lots of layers
  • Stay dry
  • Get out of the cold
  • Hypothermia can occur in the home-make sure there is heating especially for elderly people
  • Mild hypothermia is 32-35*C

STEPS - FIRE BUILDING

  • Collect tinder and kindling

  • Put together in a teepee design
  • Make sure your fire starts small
  • Light the fire
  • Keep an eye on the fire and don't get carried away

SHELTER

  • Choose a ground that is dry, has no water, and pretty flat
  • Also choose a ground that is a good distance to water and has some wood for fires
  • Use fallen trees and branches to create a shelter
  • It is good if your shelter is roomy if you have someone else with you but if you are alone it is good that you have a smaller shelter to keep all the heat in, also good if you have room for a fire

SHELTER 2

  • If you found a shelter in a hole then you might want to clear some of the branches so they don't poke you in the eye but if you are building your shelter out of branches then don't clear the branches

Food

  • Mostly in the wild there is food like plants and insects
  • Eat healthy and make sure you are getting good protein
  • It depends what habitat you are in for the food you will get
  • Don't eat a lot of food at once (save it)
  • Meat and fish are good sources of protein
  • At the beginning of the survival, plants are the best diet because they contain carbohydrates
