She was born June 19, 1945.

Born in Rangoon, Burma. Rangoon is now called “Yangon”

She tried to bring political changes without violence

SHE WON A NOBEL PRIZE

FOR TRYING TO BRING POLITICAL CHANGE W/ OUT VIOLENCE

She was put under house arrest for 21 years because they believe they shouldn’t kill women. (Still not completely sure).

She was put under house arrest 5 times.

She was the first women to serve as a minister for a foreign affairs.

She has two brothers. Aung San Lin and Aung San Oo. Aung San Lin died when he was eight. He drowned in an ornamental lake. Aung San Oo immigrated to San Diego.

She can speak four languages : Burmese, English, French, and Japanese.

She is the youngest daughter of Aung San, father of the nation of modern day Myanmar.
