WATERCOLOR:
A painting method in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water-soluble vehicle, or solution.

PROPERTIES OF WATERCOLORS

  • Transparent.
  • Pigment is built up towards dark values, not light.
  • Control depends on amount of water used.
  • Can be altered easily after drying.

PROCEDURE

  • Use a ruler to divide paper into 100 squares DRAW LIGHTLY!!! (10x10, 5x20 etc.)
  • Experiment with all colors and different techniques.
  • Different colors may bleed into one another.
  • Use different amounts of water.
