Today a lot of people worry if their food is good enough for a picture to post on social media. The large companies now also have those social media food posts in mind as they make their new photogenic products.

food on social media

In the article, "Unicorn Frappuccinos just the latest food designed with Instagram in mind", from Los Angeles Times they talk about the influence of something is good for a picture to be posted on social media. Teens worry about how their food looks like so it can be posted on their social media. But the companies know what they are doing. They always have social media in mind when they make something new. Companies know what to make to get our attention.

Looks matter

The article talks about how millennials 18-34 years old. Millennials care about what their food looks like so it can be photographed, but they also care how their food tastes like. One-third of millennials post photos of their food online. Somethings that call the millennial's attention are colorful drinks, frosted desserts, and coffee with foam art. This stuff is meant to be snapped and shared online.

social media in their mind

The article also talks about companies and how they have social media in their minds. They think more about social media when making their products. As the new foods are being developed the companies make sure their food tastes good but also looks good. Because millennials care about these two things when it comes to their food. The companies keep in mind how their food must look good to get our attention. Colorful drinks, frosted desserts, and coffee with foam art is what gets posted on social media. They get the attention of the millennial but fast food is usually not pretty for a picture. But the fast-food chains are trying to change that. Because they are meant to be snapped and shared. They want us to talk about it, so they make it photogenic.

conclusion

In conclusion, social media is influencing companies and us teens now in days. The company's products are being influenced by social media. For them to attract us Millennials. I get influenced by the things I see are trending on social media. Companies are doing a good job and getting our attention with these foods to be photogenic.
