PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ST. LOUIS

  • We started out from St. Louis today.

STEAMBOATS

  • We used steamboats to get over the Missouri River today.

WESTPORT

  • We jumped off at Westport today.

BLUE MOUND

  • We saw blue mound today and it was beautiful! So much more interesting the the flat plains.

AMERICAN INDIANS

  • Some of us thought the Indians were savages but I think they were pretty cool to see.

BUFFALO

  • We saw tons of buffalo today! I wonder if they'll be as many in the future.

WEATHER

  • I always love the days when the weather is just perfect! Other days when it's rainy and cold I just wanna be in my home.

ACCIDENTS

  • Today on the trail someone got ran over. He died almost immediately. We had to stop and bury him then we were on our way again.

FORT KEARNY

  • We saw Fort Kearny today. Some people stopped to trade their furs.

MORMON TRAIL

  • There are some Mormons on the trail that take there own way. If they don't they might get persecuted.

ASH HOLLOW

  • After a long hike we were rewarded with a beautiful camping site named ash hollow.

5 - CHIMNEY ROCK

  • We saw chimney rock today and it's a pretty cool thing!

FORT LARAMIE

  • We stopped at another trading post but this one isn't that successful.

REGISTER CLIFF

  • We stopped at this cliff and carved our names into the Rock.

SOUTH PASS

  • We're half way there!!

INDEPENDENCE ROCK

  • We just passed ones the most famous things on the trail. The legend was if we were there before the snow came we were on a good start.

BIG HILL

  • This is the toughest thing we've done. It is so hard to get up.

SMITH'S TRADING POST

  • A mountain man just made this post, his name is Thomas smith.

SODA SPRINGS

  • This was a gyser that shot out carbonated water instead of the regular water. It was a nice change.

SHEEP ROCK

  • This helped the wagon train navigate.

KEENEY PASS

  • We are now in Oregon and had to cross keeney pass.

FAREWELL BEND

  • The road was so dusty that all the wagons had to spread out.

FLAGSTAFF HILL

  • This was a marking where we could finally see the blue mountains.

EMIGRANT SPRINGS

  • This is where we finally got out fresh water. This was a good spot for farmers too.
